After going to the derma for the last and final time to try to win the pimple war that was currently on the lower-half of my face, I decided to heal my cystic acne naturally once and for all.
No more antibiotics. No more medications messing with my body.
After doing extensive research on amazing websites such as Well and Good, I was ready to put an end to my painful, cystic acne.
Here are the top methods that have worked wonders for me:
1. Identify and limit trigger foods
Everyone's trigger foods are different. Trigger foods are foods that cause the balance in your body to go haywire and they increase inflammation in the body which shows up on the skin.
Try eliminating foods that have you feeling yuck, or foods that you notice cause you to get a pesky zit right after eating them.
For me my trigger foods are: 1. Coffee 2. Chocolate 3. Peanut butter/nut butters 4. Bananas and dates (high-sugar fruits) 5. Potatoes/simple carbs
Yeah, your trigger foods may even be your favorite foods. I struggled with this for a while. Once I got my skin looking nice by avoiding my triggers, I would splurge and eat them only to have zits pop up the next day.
Your resolve has to be bigger than your cravings, so you can pin-point your own causes of inflammation. In my case, I had to completely eliminate my trigger foods from my diet to see results.
2. Keep your skin care simple
Avoid heavily fragranced, rough and abrasive cleansers. Look for a cleanser that is gentle and for sensitive skin. I use La Roche-Posay Cleansing Milk. It's so milky and smooth that when I use it with a little bit of warm water, it's the perfect cleanser for my skin.
Go simple. Go natural. Don't break the bank.
When it comes to moisturizers or serums don't go overboard. I use Cerave because I have very dry skin that turns red. If I use a serum I use a little Josie Maran Argan Oil (2 drops at most) and massage that onto my face at night every once and a while.
The key to skincare is consistency. Don't change up products and don't stop using them if you don't see instant results. Try it out for a few weeks and you will see improvement if it's working for your skin.
3. Heal your gut
The relationship between a healthy gut and skin is often over-looked by modern medicine. When I went vegan, I developed leaky gut syndrome and had an over-growth of candida and yeast. I had to balance my diet with more fats and proteins and limit sugar intake.
Just recently I started drinking 1 tablespoon of Organic Apple Cider Vinegar (with "mother") in a cup of hot tea or hot water. I drink this 2 times a day about 10-15 minutes before a meal.
This has transformed my skin in less than 2 weeks! I have not had one single cyst since starting this routine of ACV. Don't believe me? Try it out for yourself.
It's so much cheaper than taking antibiotics and it helps you detox your body, instead of harming it like many antibiotics do.
If you are like me, and are at your wits end with the cycle of painful acne please look within your body.
Acne is simply a sign that something is not working properly within. As within, so without.
I want to also mention how a positive attitude, self-love and acceptance can make all the difference.
Every time I get a pimple I send love to the pimple and tell my self how beautiful I am even with it. I try to take my mind off the pimple and focus on something positive instead. This helped my breakouts not last as long and not be as severe.
Just remember that once you heal your body, you heal your skin.
What even is a twin flame relationship?
Maybe you’ve seen a few articles shared on Facebook about this “heavily romantic phenomenon.” And while the dynamic can be romantic, it is not the sole purpose of this connection. (Shocking, I know…)
According to my definition: twin flames are two people who possess the same soul or energy signature. One person usually takes on more of the masculine energy (think the light in the yin/yang symbol) and one person usually takes on the feminine energy (the dark.)
What does this even mean? Here are a few components of a twin flame relationship to better explain the dynamic:
1. Increased self-awareness
This is number one on my list, because the whole purpose of a twin flame connection is YOU.
This connection forces you to let go of who you thought you were. This connection forces you to take off that mask and bask in your vulnerability as a beautiful, special soul.
Around the time of meeting your twin flame for the first time, many people experience increased self-focus and self-awareness. This is not to be confused with being self-centered. This is about YOU finally letting yourself pursue your passions and realizing your old plans for your life simply don’t fit with who you are anymore.
2. Instant connection and attraction
This connection isn’t your cookie-cutter love at first sight. This ain’t no Romeo and Juliet…
I would akin the first meeting to an unfathomable magnetic attraction. You’re drawn to them. They’re drawn to you, and you both can’t rationalize why.
You may come from different cultures, speak different languages or seem like complete opposites on the surface, yet there is this undercurrent of love and acceptance for them almost instantaneously. As you talk to them, you find out you have similar passions.
When you look into their eyes it’s like looking into a mirror and coming home. This brings up extreme attraction, but also extreme fear and confusion. For the first time in your life you feel content and at-ease. However, all emotions are brought to the surface including the good, the bad and the ugly… simply because both of your souls are trying to purge any negative baggage that is blocking you from loving unconditionally.
3. A period of letting go
Many people believe that the negative emotions and fears that are brought to the surface is a sign that you are “bad” for one another. Other people in your lives such as friends or family may not be able to understand it.
It is essential to understand that this other person always looks out for you and is always wanting the best for you, even if they too are caught in their own confusion and fear. The connection is always mutual and always based in love.
There are many articles that speak about “separation” or a stage of “running/chasing.” I’m not going to mention these stages specifically because they aren’t necessary or needed in every situation. Just as every person on this planet is unique, every connection is unique and will follow its own journey as needed for both parties to awaken.
This realization that there is unhealed parts of self that need to be integrated and accepted is seen only upon the mirroring that happens between twin flames. That is what makes the connection so special and unique.
Enlightenment is all about learning to listen to yourself and your own guidance. It’s about being your own guru. It’s about listening to your heart. It’s about death and letting go and rebirth. It’s about the beautiful blessing of having two lives in one: the life of illusion and the life of enlightenment.
The twin flame connection defies every pre-set standard society has constructed for “romantic love.” Twin flames aren’t here to fit the mold, but to break the rules and uplift love to it’s original form: partnership.
A partnership where both masculine and feminine are equal and balanced. Where one honors and uplifts the other and the other does the same. Where the masculine isn’t afraid to be vulnerable and strong, and where the feminine isn’t afraid to assert her power but also ask for help…
Twin flames are highly evolved souls who came here to break down the barriers to love.
The biggest barriers of all being the ones that exist within us.
